St Josephs Parish joined the "Loud Fence" movement this week. The Loud Fence is to raise awareness of the victims of child abuse in the Church and widers community. You are invited to tie a ribbon on the Currie St fence around the sign that is displayed.

The Joy of Love experienced by families
is also the joy of the Church. As the
Synod Fathers noted, for all the many signs of
crisis in the institution of marriage, “the desire
to marry and form a family remains vibrant,
especially among young people, and this is an
inspiration to the Church”. As a response to
that desire, “the Christian proclamation on the
family is good news indeed”.
This is the opening paragraph of Pope Francis' exhortation on the family. it is his response to the Synod on the Family that has taken place over the past two years.
He gives a beautiful reflection St Paul's hymn to love found in 1 Corinthians 13, often used at weddings. The whole letter deserves reading and reflection. As he says take time and do not rush through it.

Year of Mercy Begins in Nambour

The Mercy Evening prepared by the Youth Group marked the beginning of the Year of Mercy for St Joseph's. As a designated pilgrimage Church for the area we were pleased to welcome our Dean, Fr Joe Duffy, Parish Priest of Maroochydore. He blessed and opened the door of the Church symbolising our easy access to God's mercy.
