Reflection on the Wounds of Christ
Posted by admin - 10/04/18 07:07AM - - 1/52/53/54/55/5

May the Christ who walks

on wounded feet

walk with you on the road.

May the Christ who serves

with wounded hands

stretch out your hands to serve.

May the Christ who loves

with a wounded heart

open your hearts to love.

May you see the face of Christ

in everyone you meet,

and may everyone you meet

see the face of Christ in you.

Lent Begins - Ash Wednesday 14 February
Posted by admin - 13/02/18 10:04AM - - 1/52/53/54/55/5

Lent - a time of renewal for the whole Church.

We begin with Masses on Ash Wednesday, 14th February, at 10.00am. Children from the School will attend this Mass.

There will also be Mass  at 7.00pm on Ash Wednesday.

And continuing the call for renewal there will be a Holy Hour on Friday, 16th February at 7.00pm.

This is in response to the change the Church needs as it responds to the Royal Commission into Abuse of Children and Vulnerable Adults.

On the remaining Fridays in Lent there will be Stations of the Cross at 5.30pm at St Josephs. Except Good Friday when Stations of the Cross will be at 10.00am.

Responding to the Royal Commission
Posted by admin - 06/02/18 06:52PM - - 1/52/53/54/55/5

In 2014, Archbishop Mark launched the new Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Prevision and Protection Policy. The central message of the Policy is grounded in the policy statement:

The Archdiocese of Brisbane holds that children, young people and vulnerable adults are a gift from God with an intrinsic right to dignity of life, respect and security from physical and emotional harm.

They are to be treasured, nurtured and safeguarded by all.

This means that everyone in the church must ensure that the fundamental rights of children, young people and vulnerable adults are respected. This will be achieved through the development of respectful relationships and a commitment to safety, embracing appropriate boundaries, behaviours and practices, in accordance with the Archdiocesan Code of Ethical Behaviour and adherence to legislative imperatives of the State.

To meet this commitment, our parish is required to fulfil a number of compliance matters. These have already been put in place; however your support is needed to ensure that our Parish continues to meet all the requirements of the policy implementation.
