Dear Parishioners,
As you may have heard restrictions on gatherings have been altered as announced by the Queensland Government today, which will come into effect from 4pm on Monday 17th November 2020.

In summary the most relevant changes to restrictions are as follows:
From 4pm Monday 17th November 2020
  • Indoor premises: Increase capacity from one person per 4m2 to one person per 2m2 including Places of Worship
  • Wedding ceremonies: Up to 200 people can attend a wedding and all guests can dance (both indoors and outdoors). In conjunction with the rule of 1 person per 2m2.
  • Funerals: Up to 200 people can attend a funeral.  In conjunction with the rule of 1 person per 2m2
  • Gatherings: Increase gatherings in homes and public spaces from 40 to 50 people across Queensland.
For Mass attendance this takes effect from Monday 17th November as indicated.
The changes double the number of people who can attend Mass and increase from 70 to 140. This is because the 4 square metre rule is changed to 2 square metres per person.

If you have not been able to book into Mass over the next couple of months you may now phone the Parish Office or email the Office indicating your intentions. We are still required to book in and observe the usual hygene practices.

This weekend, 15th November, the limit is still 70 people able to attend Mass at St Josephs.
Thank you
Fr Graham Gatehouse
