Get Involved Globally to discover more about Mission
Want to deepen your faith & see how the Church is making a difference around the world? Got an itch to travel? Then let Catholic Mission help you scratch it. This year, as part of its Getting Involved Globally (GIG) program, we are inviting people to experience life – and the Catholic faith – in Ethiopia and Timor Leste. They are just two of the destinations being offered as part of our annual immersion experiences available around the world. Travel dates are March 25-April 7 (Ethiopia) and April 15-24 (Timor Leste). There also are trips planned for South Africa later in the year, further visits to Timor Leste and a reflective pilgrimage along the Camino (September 2-17). Unlike other overseas trips, these immersion experiences help you deepen your understanding of, and appreciation for, Mission. It is, first and foremost, about ‘being with’ others. For a FREE information flyer, or to find out more, either ring David or Jenny at Catholic Mission’s Brisbane office on (07) 3336 9239 or click on the Get Involved tab at the Catholic Mission website (and scroll down to GIG – Getting Involved Globally).Full Story

Merry Christmas from Josie Watts in Tokyo

Merry Christmas from Japan. Hope you all have a wonderful, peaceful time over Christmas. Remember to eat too much, talk too much, smile too much and give thanks (never possible to be) too much.
I have become a member of the Franciscan Chapel Centre, a very big community of expats in the Minato-ku. It is run by a bunch of Franciscans generally from New York. It is still a little weird but I have enjoyed a few parish events. Tokyo is wonderful, the people are very friendly and the transport system is a piece of cake.
Best wishes, Josie.Full Story
