At Mass this Wednesday we will pray for the victims of the bombings on Easter Sunday. In solidarity with the wounded and their families and all those whose lives are touched by the tragedy.
Pope Francis said: “I have learned with sadness the news of the grave attacks that, precisely today, the day of Easter, have brought mourning and suffering in some churches and other places of rest in Sri Lanka. I wish to manifest my affectionate closeness to the Christian community there, hit while they were gathered in prayer, and to the victims of such cruel violence. I entrust to the Lord all those who have tragically died, and I pray for the injured who are suffering because of this dramatic event.”Full Story

Our Lenten Pilgrimage - A Way of the Cross
Posted by Secretary - 21/03/19 10:21AM - -
You are invited to take part in a physical as well as spiritual act of penance, an act of reparation for our own sins, the sins of the Church, and the sins of the world. A pilgrimage around town - in Nambour! If you are reasonably fit and healthy join us for a walk to particular place in town in which the crosses people bear are often very visible. It will be a Way of the Cross. As we walk through Nambour, common sights can lead to a creative reflection on Jesus' Way of the Cross. We will walk with stops at places that suggest the 14 locations associated with the Passion of Jesus.
It all happens at 5.00pm on Friday, 29th March. For those not up to walking that distance the ususal Stations of the Cross will continue in the Church.

Ash Wednesday - Lent - Easter
Posted by Secretary - 06/03/19 07:17AM - -
Today on Ash Wednesday we begin our Lenten journey to Easter.
Lent is a time when we can make choices. To live simply, peacefully, prayerfully. Or to live grasping always for more things, at war with ourselves and each other, thinking that we do not need God. That is the way of the "world." If we want change in the world, or the Church, it needs to begin with us.
This is the work of repentance. Let us make a choice then to give up something to help us change direction. And let us make a choice to take up something in our prayer, fasting, and works of mercy.Full Story
